The government has just approved a tax reduction on property purchases until December 31st. This is excellent news for those who is looking to buy a property on the Costa del Sol during this year.
On resales properties
- Property tax transfer (ITP) has been reduced from 8-10% to a fixed 7%.
On new properties from the developer
- VAT tax for New-build property remains at 10%
- Stamp duty (AJD) is reduced from 1.5% to 1.2%
HOW DOES THIS AFFECT YOUR PLANS TO BUY A PROPERTY?
Property taxes are the biggest cost added to the purchase price of a property in Spain.
